IAB exam July 2025

I did the exam with a second person (this is how they always do it). But they ask each person individually about something. Firstly, he asked us which background we had because he would base the depth of the questions on that. We were both physics students.

We started with separation techniques (chromatography, electrophoresis). Each one of us explained one method. Just giving an overview of the concept and important parameters.
Then he asked ways to detect analytes, specifically how fluorescence and absorbance spectroscopy work (for absorbance I think he said this and the electrophoretic mobility are the only formulae they want us to know)

Finally, he asked me what me only what MALDI stands for. My colleague then elaborated.

He is really comforting and really nice during the exam and helps you a lot and it was fairly easy and not really detailed.

Additionally if anyone is interested, I made a summary (with AI help so beware). And also I did not include the Visualization or the imaging chapter.
